My name is Katie. Obviously.
I'm 18.
I don't really use LJ that often, I'm more of a Myspace person.
So cliche, I know, but hey... Whatever.

I'm a pretty simple person. Pretty laid back and easy going. I'm a tad bit weird though. I'm pretty random and crazy at times.
I'm blunt. I don' believe in sugarcoating things whatsoever.
It's a waste of time. I don't beat around the bush.
I respect people who respect me.
And I respect people who are honest with me.

I have ADHD. And I am not a self-diagnoser, as I like to call it, of said condition.
I actually went to a doctor for it for a few years and did the medication thing.
And believe me when I say, having ADHD is not fun. I hate it when people say they have it when they don't.
It's not something "cool". It's not a "popular" thing.
For those of us who really have it, it's sort of a burden.
It's not enjoyable, trust me.

My goal is to be a Child Psychologist or a Kindergarten Teacher.
I think I'd fit in with all the kids, cause I'm just a big kids myself.
I guess I chose those two options because I feel most comfortable around younger kids also.
They're so smart. If you'd just take time to listen to them they have so much to say.
I envy their innocence.
How they don't have to worry about everything that's going on in the world these days.
All the crime, hate and anger...

I might not get on here much...
I'll only get on here to read stuff on MCS and whatnot.
I might be posting some stuff there in the future so look out for me.
Haha.

I like to write.
It's a passion.
I have notebooks everywhere full of writing.
On almost every topic.
I always keep a notebook and a pencil next to my bed just incase I wake up with an "Aha!" moment or get into one of my genius modes in the wee hours of the morning and just have to write.

I like to sing.
My whole family is big on singing.
I'm just pretty shy about it.
Heh.

I'm a bit obsessed with photography.
Old photography.
With the old SLR point and shoot 35mm cameras.
They're the best in my opinion.
They capture life better...
Feelings.

I'm kind of an art freak.
I could go on and on about art.
How everything is art...
Photography is art too.
Some people don't think so.
But I believe that it is.
I could go into a detailed reason why, but I think I might confuse people with my theory.

I think I'm pretty smart for a person my age.
Actually, I think I'm smarter than some people older than me.
I think I'm more mature... (At times when I want to be. Lol.)
I like to take time to think about things.
I like to learn.

I'm big on politics.
I could talk forever about it.
I'm not really pushy on the subjct, I'm just really opinionated.
Get me going though, and it might take me a while to stop.
I'd consider myself a Republican...
Though I do disagree with some of the more controversial Republican views.
But let's not get into that.

I am a huge video game nerd.
I could play video games for hours.
Literally.
Just sti in front of the tv all day and complete a whole game.
It's kind of odd if you think about it.
Most girls don't do that.
Lol.

I'm a pretty big Harry Potter nerd as well.
I have every book. Along with every game and every movie that has been released thus far.
You know they're coming out with a Harry Potter theme park in 2009, right?
Yep. In Orlando Florida. Universal Studios to be exact.
Pretty freakin' awesome if you ask me.
And Orlando is only a two hour drive from where I'm at.
So w00t for that.
Haha.
Get me talking about Harry Potter and you might not be able to stop me.
I even know how to play "Hedwig's Theme" on the guitar.
No lie.
It's kind of funny.

Music plays a big role in my life.
Music helps you express your feelings when you have no other outlet.
I'm going to be cliche and say music=life.
Because really, it does.
Everything is music, just like everything is art.
The sound of your computer humming...
The traffic outside your window...
The wind blowing the trees...
The steady drip drip drip of your leaky faucet...
Your own breathing.
It's all music.
You've just gotto learn how to hear it as such.

I guess I'm pretty normal.
With the exception of my random moments and weird theories...
I can get pretty crazy too.
Blurt out into a song or noises...
(Though I think that's got to do with the ADHD)
Or making up silly nonsense stories and words...
But other then that, I'm just your average person on the street.
